The Australian Kelpie was originally bred for sheep herding in the harsh and hot climate of Australia. The Kelpie is a gathering style dog, using eye, bark and bite to move stock. The Kelpies are alert, eager, highly intelligent dogs who require an active lifestyle. Their energy in almost inexhaustible. They are eager to please and devoted to their job. While their natural instinct and aptitude in the working of sheep and cattles makes them an ideal ranch dog, they should not be overlooked by Agility and Obedience enthusiasts. |
